I just released a major system upgrade that allows you to have much more control over your own personal collection. The earlier version simply allowed you to associate a number that you had of any particular ornament in the JustBreen archive. You can now do the following:
Add any ornament to you?re My Collection section.
Describe the details associated with adding that ornament to your collection. This portion allows you to associate the date you acquired an ornament, the price you paid for it, your estimated replacement value of that ornament, and any additional details you may want/need to add.
Create your own ornament archive. You can now use the same form our administrators use to create ornaments that are private to your collection only! Simply put, any ornaments you create stay in your account, they do not become part of the general archives.
Share your collection with others. Any member can choose to ?show off? their collection by visiting their My Collection section and clicking the link to ?Make Your Collection Public.? This will allow others to see both the ornaments that you have in your collection from the general archive as well as those ornaments that are private to your account.
Please note: If an ornament is private to your account, it can still be seen by others if you have you?re ?My Collection? set to display publicly.
To see all of the members that are currently sharing their collections publicly, simply click the new ?Member Collections? link from your left-side navigation.
Printable Collection Report. In you?re My Collection section you will see a new link that allows you to view a printable report of all the ornaments you have stored in your collection.
There is a lot to learn here. It will probably take most people a little time to get used to how to properly utilize these new features. I highly suggest just jumping in and giving them a try. Most software is easiest to learn by using it over and over, making mistakes and learning how to fix them on you own. For this reason, the elves will not be answering questions about how to use these sections until the first of next week.
