    An Old Fashioned Christmas
Year: 2006     Holiday: Christmas     Shared by: Breenbaubles
I like old fashioned, traditional looking Christmas decorations and these are a few of my favorites. My main tree is a 10' all Breen tree. I put only Christmas theme ornaments on it. Over the years I've collected many Santas handmade by different artisans. I usually group them by artist or theme and have many small Santa "vignettes" scattered around the house. These are just a few of them. I also collect the wonderful vintage looking ornaments made by Dresden Star as well as cotton batting and Victorian scrap ornaments made by various artisans. I love feather trees and also have feather garlands and even a feather wreath. I hope you enjoy some of my old fashioned Christmas collection!

The three Santas in the middle are by Paul Gordon. They are made of antique cotton batting and are holding vintage accessories. The other Santas are all by my favorite artist, Elaine Rosele.

These are Gabriella Christoff glass ornaments hanging from my dining room chandelier. I didn't know where else to put these but like how it turned out. They sparkle wonderfully when the lights are on. Although not pictured, below the chandelier is an ivory feather tree hung with white mini Moravian star ornaments and antique tinsel roping.

This Thomas Nast style Santa is made by Rebecca Satten. What's interesting about this Santa is his beard is made of real horsehair and he's holding a long pipe like a Nast Santa which has a small amount of real pipe tobacco in it!

This is my "retro" kitchen corner. Almost everything here is antique although there are one or two newer pieces. The little fireplace is a candy container. The large cardboard church in the back is a favorite and has "Christmas 1953" written on the bottom.
