    Holiday Highlights
Year: 2009     Holiday: Christmas     Shared by: Breenbaubles
Here are some highlights from my holiday decorations for this year. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoy creating them. Happy Holidays! Pam A.

The Breen tree in the family room. This year before I hung any ornaments I scrunched 70 yards of gold metallic ribbon into the branches of the tree towards the back. It adds a little extra interest and really sparkles when the lights are on and the tree is rotating.

The Breen mistletoe tree. Last year I only had enough mistletoe ornaments to put them on hangers below the tree; however there were so many mistletoe ornaments this year it was easy to almost fill the entire tree!

Top of the mistletoe tree is a gold bow with a mistletoe sprig. The creamware plate really frames it nicely.

Below the mistletoe tree is a garland and more mistletoe sprigs in the snow.

The gingerbread tree in the kitchen corner. Here too, last year I had to fill in a few empty spots with some candy canes. But this year with the many new gingerbread ornaments I actually had to move some of them over to the wreath. I really like the Gingerbread Cachette and putting it under the bell jar not only protects it but highlights it on the counter too.

The gingerbread wreath is on the back door in the kitchen. It was really quick and easy to make. I just tucked and wove the ribbons into the wreath (no gluing) and then wired on the ornaments and the bow. It turned out really well I think.

The family room coffee table with the two new cachettes and last year's red bird and holly oranments and three Schaller tree candy containers. They all look great together!

This is the back side of the Breen tree which is all of my blue and a (very) few black ornaments. I think Rich has started a trend, however, because my goal for next year is to put all of the blue ornaments on their own flocked or white tree.

I have two non-Breen trees as well. This year I did my small tabletop tree which sits in the living room window in all Victorian scrap, cotton batting, Blumchen, Dresden Star and older blown glass ornaments. It looks very pretty and old-fashioned.

This tree is in our bedroom and has all of my Inge Glas clip-on birds on a gold bare branch tree.
