    CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT - 2008 - PART I
Year: 2008     Holiday: Christmas     Shared by: Cayla827
Seems like I'm going to be forced to bore you again, this time with my Christmas decorations. Over the years I have expanded my collection to include the bedrooms & bathrooms and have tried to do them with color coordinated decorations. I have already proven I'm a bit nuts with my Halloween galleries and this will now confirm I am definitely certifiable. While I only do two trees I've had to leave out some photos otherwise I'm afraid the Elves might ban me for life. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, JUDY M. (aka MookieTzu@aol.com)

This is my main tree. It's hard to see from the photo but I do have other ornaments on it besides Breen. I don't have enough of one style or the room to do theme trees. I've collected Swarovski, Lalique, Baccarat, Radko, John O'Toole, Danbury Mint gold plated, and Glitterazzi as well as some special ones I bought pre-Breen that I tried to fit in. My dad made the stand and I've got six Dept 56 houses and accessories under the tree so it looks like a little village.

The coffee table has a collection of August Moon figures, a beaded tree, a Christoff Santa, and a red ribbed glass bowl made in Italy. The oriental cabinet holds a Lynn Haney Santa, glass glittered reindeer from Gumps, a large beaded tree, another Christoff Santa and the "hope" angel.

I wanted to display the Majestic/Spendid Santas together. When I found the beautiful glass glittered trees at HCB I went from there. I added a Dept56 tree that changes colors and the rest of the decorations came from Home Goods, including the garland, ornaments, mirrored tray, silver angel and the hand blown Lauscha snowmen! I took apart a garland of glittered/beaded balls and placed them around to look like silver snowballs.

This is my Dept 56 collection of enameled/bejeweled "boxes". A Santa on a sled, every reindeer except Rudolf, a frog santa, frog ballerina on poinsettia and a Poodle holding a purse. Lastly the red glittered Santa & tree and a Radko frame with Cayla finishes it off.

This snowtown village is one of my favorites. It's by the same folks that made my Halloween display, except the houses are more elaborate and light up. I've added Dept 56 trees, wall w/topiaries and the large "Christmas" tree that I put lights/garland on. You can just see some of the tiny gifts with bows under it that I bought from a store that sells dollhouses.

The baker's rack in my kitchen holds various Santa figures, etc. my holiday Beanies and 3 Breen Gourmet Snowmen. The wreath behind it is decorated with copper figures and bells that hang from velvet cords.

Dining room table also has heavily decorated trees, crystal candleholders/trees, Clothtique Santas and glittered jester frogs. I decorated the centerpiece to compliment the corner swags going into the sunroom. The fabulous HCB Swingtime hangs in all it's glory from the chandelier.

Some of my Byers carollers with accessories. I put two of HCB's "barns" and a mini finial in front of the gifts under the tree. There's also a sparkle Santa peeking out behind the carollers.

I've also decorated my mantle with more carollers and beaded trees. The 2 nutcracker stockings were special NM anniversary ones that hang from enameled/jeweled holders from Frontgate. I decorated various greens with beads, flowers & sparkly pine cones.

This is part of my Woof n Poof collection I started from Tiny Tim's. I added beaded cone trees, a gold metal reindeer and two arrangements I embellished with additional sparkly flowers, holly and tall beaded picks.

My small Breen tree with a few glass icicles here and there and a mirrored/beaded garland which also reflects the light.
