    Christmas 2008 at Marsha's Vineyard
Year: 2008     Holiday: Christmas     Shared by: marshavnyd
We were able to enjoy our first 'normal' Christmas season with the house fully decorated since 2004. We hosted a party for my husband's carpool buddies so we had to be done by the 10th. It was a push, but it's been great being able to enjoy the decorations. The gingerbread tree and 'ice' tree are new this year. I've outgrown my red/white/green tree so we will need to work with Kara next year to design something a bit bigger. The Deebee Thibault (DTAC) tree is finally 'full' and I love, love, love the fairy lights. You'll see lots of papier mache pieces scattered around the house. We hope you enjoy your time at the 'vineyard'.

Welcome to the Vineyard. Jim has done his usual great job in lighting the gate. That's not the moon, it's a lighted 'orb' hanging from the tree. Now if only the last leaves would fall....

You can see the lights of the two main trees and the mantel through the windows. The lights on the maples on either side of the brick walkway are up year round.

The DTAC tree finally had enough ornies to make it look full. The fairy lights are a great addition. And, yes, this is the guest bathroom.

I really struggled to find a topper for this tree. I never could find anything vintage but really like this OOAK Kirsten Beason papier mache piece. I think whimsy goes with almost everything.

I had way too many red ornies so I decided to 'ban' gold from the main tree and put them on the gold tree that I used for autumn. There is a Schaller and three Russian Santas beneath the tree. The Santa painting is a CCWhimsies original.

The new 'ice' tree is in Jim's office and is decorated with 2008 event pieces and 'crystal' garlands from Crate and Barrel. It's lighted from the bottom and rotates. It's a really fun little tree. The painting to the right is a Kristen Beason original.

The black tree is Jim's. He decorates the tree himself and this year it has six Breen garlands. Santa Cat and the reindogs are on 'guard' beneath the tree.

The mantel is very eclectic, with beaded trees, Breens Breen hanging from the candelabra, poinsettia ladies. a DTAC Santa and Mark West fairies. And, Christmas at the Barn is nestled beneath the trees. The armoire has an oversized mercury glass ornaments and trees and some whimsical Christmas dolls. I love the large Schaller on the elephant table. It's so Christmasy!

This is Marsha's tree. I started this tree about five years ago and it's finally come into it's own. I love the overstuffed branches dripping in red, white and green Breens. They're tucked in every nook and cranny and this year there are seven Breen garlands. With a greatly diminished Wish List and a plethora of 2008 Christmas themed ornaments, it's time for a bigger tree. Even though this one has gotten awfully heavy, it's still rotating! Two Christmas bunnies and a Lynn Haney Santa admire the tree from below.

This little table in the dining room has a Lynn Haney Santa, some Deebee Thibault and Fat Jak Originals papier mache pieces. Fat Jak is a recent find of mine and I love the antique blocks! The small photograph is of our Swiss 'kids' from a previous Christmas card. There are two Breen Christmas cards framed on the wall.

The peacock tree is in the pass through hall to the kitchen. Since there are so few peacock pieces, I've added some platinum ones which compliment the tree nicely. The Cachettes and Russian santas also work well below the tree. There are two framed Breen Christmas cards hanging on the wall. I wish she was still making her greeting cards.

This is our other new tree. The gingerbread motif is perfect for the kitchen. I've taken decorating tips from Breen4Me (Laurie). Since the tree was originally hers, it only seems fitting, right? I've added some red metal swirls. tiny red glass berries and glass red polka dot icicles to liven the tree up a bit. This tree sits in a small rotating base that is just perfect for it. That's another Kristen Beason papier mache piece on the door handle.
