Ladybugs and Bumble Bees at Marsha's Vineyard...
Year: 2008     Holiday: Spring     Shared by: marshavnyd
This year I did spring/summer trees with very specific themes. My Gumps Glitter tree, has bees only. There are no Santas to be found. The multicolor fabric bees are a find from last year's Halls event. Now, if I could find ladybugs! Please note my broken beeskep sitting in the flower pot with reindeer moss. Thank you Pam Akre for enriching my options for decorating. I plan to paint the pot for next year's display.

I used red and neutral ladybugs on my Pottery Barn Blossom tree with Peachtree glitter birds. It has red/grey ladybug themed pieces, black gentlemen bugs, that wonderfull clear crystal Ladybug Noel from Milaegers and numerous red ladybugs. The orange, blue, pink, purple, etc colored ladybugs are grumbling in their boxes with the butterflies and other insects and will have to wait their chance for next year's display.

There aren't that many ladybug ornaments that fit this motif, so I did use Santa Ladybugs, Ladybug Noels and other Santa pieces but turned them around so the ladybug backs are most visible. I'm pretty pleased with how the tree turned out and have my fingers crossed that I'll run across fabric ladybugs somewhere in my travels.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
